Ingol and Tanterton Monthy Round-up May 2026 |

Good evening, all.
I hope you are well and have all been enjoying the beautiful weather. Apologises for no updates last month. I had to take a period of unplanned absence due to a fall but back now fighting fit. We have had a busy month with lots going on.
May saw our week of action regarding our efforts to tackle Knife Crime (Op Sceptre) and throughout this week we focused a lot on our green spaces conducting numerous knife sweeps. These were completed around Tanterton Playing field, the shops around Granton Walk, and the paths and ginnels around the estates off Tanterton Hall Road. Thankfully no items, knives or other weapons were located, and it was lovely to speak to many people whilst on our walk. We also conducted numerous educations inputs at our schools and local Beavers groups explaining the dangers of carrying weapons.
We have been completing enquiries including house to house, and CCTV following various reports of theft from motor vehicle offences in the area. These have been reported to have occurred overnight around Margate Road, Hillcrest Avenue and Dovedale Close. CCTV currently shows the offender as possibly operating around 0500 hours in the morning. During these offences the vehicles have been entered by unknown means (but no force used to suggest they were unlocked) and items stolen including wallets, cash, sunglasses etc. Please ensure your vehicles are locked and secured and items of value removed and not on show. We have continued to get reports of youth nuisance and ASB around Golf View and areas around Tanterton Playing Field and we encourage you all to report such incidents to ourselves. We have actively been patrolling this area and have conducted estate meetings with First Port Housing who are tackling the issue also. We will continue to work with our partners including housing and the local council to address these concerns with a view to securing the area and making it less desirable. We have conducted numerous joint visits with Places for People and Community Gateway following ID of some youths involved in this nuisance and formal action will be taken if warnings are not adhered to.
As a neighbourhood team we have seen an increase in the illegal sale of Ketamine throughout Preston. We have seen an increase in accidental drugs overdose incidents and whilst it is unknown if related does cause us concern. Upon our Lancashire Talking Surveys you as residents of Ingol and Tanterton continue to raise drugs activity as an issue of concern. If you have any information about who is supplying Ketamine or any other drug, please let us know. Crime Stoppers can be used anonymously on 0800 555 111. We have dealt with many incidents this month in our area of people who have been in crisis due to taking drugs. We will continue to develop intelligence with a view to stopping the supply of drugs. One male was dealt with for possession of cannabis on Whitby Avenue this last month, whilst another was also issued a caution for cultivation of cannabis also around the Whitby Avenue area.
As a result of information passed through to us on the Lancashire Talking surveys and at our local PACT meetings, we have conducted various speed enforcement static checkpoints on areas raised as being a priority concern. This has included time spent on Tag Lane and Tanterton Hall Road with the speed gun checking motorists and offering education. During those check points it is confirmed that no persons were caught speeding 'YOUSAIDWEDID
On a sad note for us: The time has come for PCSO Jules PARKER to retire. She left the building for the final time last week having worked for Lancashire Constabulary in her role as a PCSO for the last 20 years. She worked half of that time on Larches and Savick and the later half covering Ingol, Tanterton and Cottam. Her knowledge of the area, her compassion when dealing with vulnerable people and her commitment to making positive change and difference in the area is something that I don’t ever think will be matched. I am sure you will all wish her the best in her retirement.
We would really like to thank you for all your continued support. It has been a difficult few months with lots going on, but lots to look forward to throughout the Summer including the World Cup. Take care
PC Jenny, PCSO Joe, PCSO Georgia
